Over the years, I've submitted hundreds of micro-contributions to all sorts of open source software, because I can't resist small, quick-fix issues that I come across as I use them. Worse: they often chain together. But that's what "scratching your own itch" means, right? 🙈

Earlier today I was setting up @signalapp on a phone and noticed a typo in a dialog. I found the source code, and while editing the file to submit a patch, I bumped into a faulty error message in my editor, so I *also* sent a correction for that error. …What was I doing again?

And of course, this reminded me of the @xkcd comic "Duty Calls" (https://xkcd.com/386/), and so I decided to create a modified version of the comic in @inkscape. And THEN, so I could properly credit the font I used in the edit (Karumbi), I created a @wikidata item for it.

Anyway, here is the Wikidata item: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q131140153
And the ~60 other edits I ended up doing to related Wikidata items: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions/Waldyrious&target=Waldyrious&offset=2024111023300&limit=62

And of course, the original FOSS patches:
- First PR: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/pull/13779
- Second PR: https://github.com/redhat-developer/vscode-xml/pull/1037

I guess I should have referenced https://xkcd.com/214/ instead 😅
