After almost exactly 15 years of using @teuxdeux to manage my daily tasks, I have decided to move to @timestripe for my task and project management needs. I've used teuxdeux pretty much every single day since 2009, logging nearly 100,000 tasks in total. Here's why I'm switching:

I'll start by saying that I still recommend TeuxDeux highly, as an exceptionally simple to do app with a brilliant design and basically zero learning curve. But the app is being maintained at a glacial pace. And I use it so frequently that minor "papercut" issues add up.

As a loyal user for over a decade, and a paying customer most of this time, I have submitted feedback several times, and patiently waited for bugs to be fixed and features to be added. The app has been improved over time, but I still face issues I first encountered a decade ago.

The Android app is slow, finicky (moving/reordering tasks often fails mid-drag), doesn't work offline, and frankly I stopped using it due to the stress of it randomly shuffling my tasks out of order. Again: most of my issues are minor, but they add up with such frequent use.

And this brings me to the core point: The main source of my issues with TeuxDeux is, ironically, that I use it too much. I create on average 30 tasks per day (I've measured), and totaled over 10k tasks per year recently. The app simply isn't made to handle such a volume of items.

My Someday lists require several screenfuls of scrolling, and I've filled two pages of them. I essentially use the app as an archive of everything I have done every day for the past 15 years. I've even used custom CSS and a vertical monitor to handle the size of my lists.

Sure, you'll say that I am overloading my days with too much stuff. But I can't function without breaking down tasks into granular units and doing regular mind sweeps. I rely on TeuxDeux for that, and it's clear that such meticulous use isn't what it's made for.
